New Standard Quality Control Company had the privilege of hosting an official delegation from the Kurdistan Standardization and Quality Control Authority, a part of the Ministry of Planning in the Kurdistan Region. The esteemed delegation, led by the Director of Quality Control, explored the laboratories at Ibrahim Khalil International Entry.

The Company Director, Assistant Directors, and the scientific committee warmly received the delegation. The visit encompassed a comprehensive inspection of the company's laboratories, where discussions unfolded regarding the activation and coordination of joint efforts in the field of standardization and quality control. The dialogue aimed to align with scientific advancements and commercial dynamics at the entry.

Ministry of Trade and Industry Delegation Explores Company Labs at Ibrahim Khalil International Entry Complex

The Company Director and the Scientific Committee of the Central Laboratory at Ibrahim Khalil International Entry Complex welcomed the Quality Control Delegation from the Ministry of Trade and Industry in the Kurdistan Regional Government. The delegation included key figures from various laboratories, such as the Head of the Quality Control Laboratories, Head of the Biological Laboratory, Head of the Chemical Laboratory, and Head of the Physical Laboratory.

During the meeting, the two parties forged agreements to:

  • Coordinate and exchange technical information related to the activation of laboratory equipment, according to their respective capabilities.

  • Provide assistance in the development and rehabilitation of their staff for laboratory tests.

  • Assist in the purchase and diagnosis of laboratory equipment.

  • Offer support in the implementation of tests and materials beyond their current capabilities.

This collaborative effort aims to enhance technical capabilities, promote knowledge exchange, and fortify the quality control infrastructure in the region.

The Company Director actively participated in a crucial meeting hosted at the DP World-Duhok project in the Siji area, collaborating with the Ministry of Trade and Industry delegation. The delegation comprised key figures, including the General Director of Trade, the Deputy General Director of Trade for Importing and Exporting Affairs, the Director of Dunya Mirak Company, Deputy Director of Dunya Mirak Company, Director of KMCA at Siji Customs, Siji Customs Point Manager, Siji Security Officer, and Relations Officer.

During the meeting, discussions focused on commercial licenses, addressing challenges faced by traders, and exploring avenues to provide facilities for streamlined trade processes. This collaborative effort seeks to enhance trade efficiency and overcome obstacles, fostering a conducive environment for business growth and development

The delegation included Mr. Suhail Al Banna, Director of DIFC, responsible for Middle East and North Africa trade, accompanied by Mr. Shuaib Al Khouri, owner of MSK Group, Mr. Sanjay Badam, Commercial Director of Dubai World, and Mr. Sagvan Yassin, Chairman of Contracting Dunya Mirak Company. The visiting delegation was warmly received by the director of New Standard Company and the supervisor of the biological laboratories. A meeting was convened to coordinate joint scientific efforts between New Standard Company and the administration of the port located in the district of Sumel, Duhok governorate.

The Minister of Finance and Economy of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Visits New Standard Company

Mr. Rebaz Mohammad, the Minister of Finance and Economy of the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), visited the laboratory of Ibrahim Khalil International Complex on Monday, November 26, 2018. He was warmly welcomed by the Director of New Standard Company. After touring all the laboratories and sections of the company, the minister expressed gratitude for the progress of the work and thanked the company staff for their precision and organizational skills in preventing the importation of substandard goods or materials to the markets of the region. His Excellency wished that this international standard of work in the labs of Ibrahim Khalil Complex would cover all entrances to the Kurdistan Region. He also expressed his willingness to support the company's laboratory system

Visit by Erbil International Airport Delegation to New Standard Company at Ibrahim Khalil Complex

Dr. Mwafaq Suleiman Qasim, the Director General of New Standard Company at Ibrahim Khalil Complex, warmly welcomed a delegation from Erbil International Airport (EIA), led by the Director General of EIA, Talar Fayeq. The delegation included representatives from the German airline Lufthansa, the Assistant Director of General Customs in the Kurdistan Region, and the Director of Customs in EIA. The visit aimed to explore New Standard Company’s laboratories, observe ongoing lab tests, understand the nature of company laboratories, and consider the implementation of a similar quality control system at Erbil International Airport.

The purpose of the visit was to gain a firsthand understanding of the quality control process.
