At a handover held at New Standard’s Erbil office on 12 July 2025, Mr. Abdulwahid Mohammed Ibrahim, Acting Director General of the Iraqi Accreditation, presented the company with its renewed ISO/IEC 17025 certificate. The renewal is valid for two years and has been communicated and implemented across New Standard’s network, including the Ibrahim Khalil Border Crossing, Haji Omaran Border Crossing, فڕۆکەخانا نیڤدەولەتی یا هەولێر, the Seiji branch, and the Erbil laboratory, reinforcing the company’s commitment to technically valid results, impartial operations, and continuous improvement.
New Standard launched a temporary site of the New Standard Laboratory for Quality Control of Medicines and Medical Supplies in Erbil to ensure uninterrupted service while construction continues on the dedicated branch within the Central Quality Laboratory campus. The interim site features advanced instrumentation from internationally accredited manufacturers and a comprehensive training program for scientific and technical teams. Harmonized procedures, controlled environments, and robust chain-of-custody will be applied from sample receipt through certified reporting—maintaining turnaround times, traceability, and alignment with international quality standards.
New Standard signed an official contract with North Light Living to construct the company’s Central Quality Laboratory in Baharka, Erbil. The signing took place at New Standard’s headquarters in Erbil and formalizes cooperation to deliver a 13,000 m² campus designed to international standards. The laboratory will consolidate major testing divisions—including human pharmaceuticals, veterinary medicines, and pesticides—with modern infrastructure that supports full traceability from sample receipt to certified reporting. Completion is targeted for the end of June 2026.
New Standard and Golden Eagle Global (GEG) held a planning session and conducted a field visit to the 60-dunam (≈150,000 m²) site in Erbil. The visit was limited to viewing the site, confirming approximate boundaries and access roads, and noting basic utilities and ground conditions. The project aims to strengthen the Kurdistan Region’s pharmaceutical supply chain by adding compliant storage capacity in Erbil and enabling faster, traceable distribution to public and private healthcare partners.
A New Standard delegation visited the Haji Omaran Border Crossing to coordinate the planned expansion and upgrade of the company’s laboratory. In a meeting and brief site walk with Mr. Masoud Batili, the Border Director, the team reviewed the current footprint, access routes, and basic utilities. The visit focused on coordination with the crossing administration and a short walk-through to identify possible locations for the upgrade within the compound. The teams noted current constraints—space availability, vehicle flow near inspection bays, and utility access and agreed to exchange site data and designate focal points for follow-up.
New Standard announced the start of construction for its Central Quality Laboratory in Baharka, Erbil—a 13,000 m² campus built to international standards. The multi-disciplinary facility will bring together all major testing divisions under one roof, including human pharmaceutical analysis, veterinary medicine testing, and pesticide evaluation. Planned as a state-of-the-art reference hub for Kurdistan and the wider region, the complex will feature controlled environments and integrated workflows that improve turnaround times and traceability from sample receipt to certified reporting. Completion is expected by the end of June 2026, with the facility projected to be among the largest of its kind in the Middle East.
